Description
Old dog is trying to learn some new tricks. I have actually kind of forgotten the exact date I started with AI art, but one of my oldest images was posted 11th of February (see below). Since then I have gradually developed my technique but it has been quite manual. I have spent a lot of time with photo editing since there are so many issues with images that pop out from the AI Art tools. In part also because I have until recently used web services to generate my initial images. Now that I got my own dedicated machine to run Automatic1111 I am exploring the use of more advanced tools. Today I learning about using Adetailer. So this portrait of Daphny is first time I have done a high quality portrait without any kind of photo editing. This is the image straight out of the AI Art tool. I am quite impressed with how well that worked despite my limited knowledge of the tool.
Only downside I see is that part of the reason I got into AI Art was that I wanted to do something different from software development. I've been writing code for something like 30 years. It can burn you out. I thought AI Art would be for me to get into drawing. E.g. my initial images was all based on sketching the girls first and then using the AI to improve those sketches. But I find that I use the creative tools less now. It is all turning into just one big geeky adventure.
I fear that eventually I sitting and coding my own Python scripts to make images. At that point this will start to not feel very much like doing art, and more like programming.
